A Day In The Life: Step Inside Style Icon Joy Venturini Bianchi’s House Of Couture (Video)

Joy Venturini Bianchi is one of San Francisco’s most recognizable style icons. Known for her signature oversized Gucci glasses and bold fashion choices, she has held a longstanding presence among the city’s socialites. The taste maker translated her love of fashion into philanthropy, founding Helper’s House Of Couture in 2008. The couture consignment store carries select vintage apparel from around the world and proceeds go to Helpers organization, a registered nonprofit that gives grants to groups assisting the mentally disabled.

“This is a room of women who have donated to us their treasures,” she says of the store. “As I reach a time in my life where I don’t have much longer, I think to myself about my treasures, and I pray everyday that there will be someone here who will be as passionate and gets as excited about color and texture.” Step inside of her storied House of Couture and find out how — and why — Bianci become one of San Francisco’s proudest treasures.

Update: Following an investigation by the Chronicle, Bianchi was released from her role at Helpers House of Couture.
