Kate Middleton's wedding to Prince William in 2011 was watched by an estimated 2 billion people worldwide, but on Saturday, Middleton was back on the royal wedding game in a different capacity — this time to support Meghan Markle and her brother-in-law Prince Harry. To that end, Middleton showed up to their nuptials wearing a yellow wool silk coat that she's been spied in twice before, both at her daughter Charlotte's christening and the Queen's birthday, designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen.

While it might seem like an odd move to not buy something brand-new for such a special event, Middleton's choice could be read as the kindest one possible. Considering the fact that her own wedding dress (also designed by Burton for McQueen) became one of the most-imitated ever and her style has consistently placed her in the public eye, Middleton's choice to go with something that the world has already seen her in could be read as a way of avoiding attention on what should be exclusively considered Markle and Prince Harry's big day.

That's not to say the Duccess of Cambridge looked drab — on the contrary, her choice of elegant Philip Treacy hat and Jimmy Choo heels made her look as posh as ever. But peacocking, it seemed, was the last thing on Middleton's mind.
