Every professional masseur its own set of movements and methods of interaction with the patient, but any individual technique, as a rule, is based on a set of standard movements.


Vertical strokes

Stroking is a simple but effective movement that is performed in the direction of circulation. Pats are eliminating the liquid stasis in a damaged and tired tissues, thereby relieving swelling and reducing probability of development of inflammatory processes. Soft, light strokes are widely used in a relaxing massage.

Myofascial release

Myofascial release is a manual technique of stretching the muscle surfaces with the aim of normalizing body balance. Trauma, injury, stress and poor posture – all this leads to a reduction of these tissues, so the main goal of myofascial relaxation is to restore the fascia and removing stagnant and stressful events in these tissues.

Useful advice to a novice therapist

Performing massage, try to work their own body weight, and not by force of arms. If you are doing massage, working only with his hands and fingers, this massage won’t last long, as the hand and wrist will get tired very quickly. Considerable importance is the position of the person you do the massage. At home in the absence of a massage table the client can sit on the floor (on a pillow), and myself to sit on the couch, for example, or to put people on a chair, and massage to perform standing behind him. Massage can be performed in the supine position, but in this case fail to pay sufficient attention to stretching the muscles.
